About

Congresbury Community Library opened on 1 July 2017. It is an independent library run entirely by volunteers. The library is funded by Congresbury Parish Council and supported by North Somerset Library Service to provide a library service on behalf of the residents of the village and the wider community. We are always looking for more people who would be willing to volunteer their time and expertise to this community project. Information on volunteering. Books can be reserved free of charge in the library or from home by Internet using the LibrariesWest website. Reserved books must be collected from the library. Books borrowed from other county libraries can be returned to Congresbury Library. We have two computers which are available for use free of charge, a printer for which a charge is made per copy printed as well as photocopying and scanning. WiFi is available free of charge. A current library card from North Somerset or other LibrariesWest library service is required in order to borrow books or to use the computers. To join visit Congresbury Library with a completed application form together with some form of identification showing your name and address. Download Application Form. If your existing library card is out of date it can be renewed at Congresbury Library.

Honesty Library

In addition to the North Somerset library books, we offer a number of books in a section known as the Honesty Library. These books are either second- hand books, donated by readers, or new titles purchased by the Community Library. The books in the Honesty Library can be borrowed by anyone coming into the library and no library card is required. We just ask that when you have finished the book you return it to the returns box kept next to the shelves. We are extremely grateful to receive donations of clean, undamaged books for the Honesty Library so that we can continually offer new titles and more choice. If you cannot find a book in the main library, take a quick look in our Honesty Library to see if we have a copy on the shelves.
